The story of the iconic tower:

The Burj Khalifa, a symbol of Dubai, is considered one of the iconic sites in the world. The tall tower is evidence of the ambition of the city of Dubai to move from an oil powerhouse to a world tourist center. The story behind this wonder is almost as inspiring as the structure itself.

The idea for the excessive tower was brought up by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the ruler of Dubai, who wanted to create a project that would put Dubai on the world map. The ambitious project is designed to win the city of Dubai international recognition, increase tourism in the city and declare it a leading global destination in the 21st century. The construction of the iconic tower began in 2004, and lasted for six years during which thousands of workers from around the world contributed to its construction.

At first, the tower was called the Burj Dubai, but following the global financial crisis of 2008, which affected the economies of the world and among them the economy of Dubai, the city had to accept the help of billionaires from its even richer neighbor, Abu Dhabi. As a tribute to the President of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the tower was from that moment called the Burj Khalifa.

The tower's design was inspired by the desert flower 'Hymenocallis', along with the use of architectural elements from Islamic culture, thus creating a wonderful combination between Islamic architecture and futuristic aesthetics. The exterior of the tower is covered with over 26,000 glass panels, which sparkle under the scorching Arab sun, offering a spectacular spectacle of light and shadow that changes throughout the day and according to the weather conditions. At night, the iconic tower turns into a dynamic canvas, which presents visitors to the city with a kaleidoscope of colors and patterns.

The magnificent tower contains over 160 floors and rises to a height of 828 meters, and it holds several world records, including the tallest tower in the world and the elevator with the longest travel distance in the world.

Today, the Burj Khalifa tower is a symbol of Dubai's ambition and innovative spirit, and you can find luxury residences, office spaces, a luxurious hotel, Michelin restaurants and observation decks that offer incredible panoramic views of the desert city. The tower undoubtedly achieved its goal, becoming a global icon that attracts millions of tourists from around the world every year who come to witness the spectacular wonder.
