ABBA The Museum in Sweden

Abba Band Museum in Sweden

As Abba band member Benny Ederson once said, "You don't grow up with Abba, Abba grows with you", and there is no one more right than him. If you find yourself humming "Mama Mia" while playing the instruments, or shaking your pelvis to the rhythm of "Dancing Queen", you are not alone, we are all part of the global ABBA family, a loving family, a family that dances with the passion of the disco.

Welcome to the city of Stockholm, the heart of the Kingdom of Sweden, a city where a rich Viking history meets a contemporary Scandinavian atmosphere, alongside magnificent landscapes that are no less fascinating than the story of four musicians who put the northern country on the world pop map. The Abba Museum, located in the center of vibrant Stockholm, will take you to rediscover the Swedish pop quartet, in an immersive and colorful journey through the stations of their lives and the highlights of their career.

Before we start..

It's time for us to get into the atmosphere, so sit back, turn up the speakers, and let Abba sweep you away:

Experience the heyday:

As soon as you enter the Abba Museum you will not be able to help but feel inside a glittering time machine decorated with sequins and disco balls. The museum will take you far back to the 70s and 80s, years when the Abba band dominated the world music scene. Wandering through the museum will provide you with a walk down memory lane, celebrating the music, style and legacy of ABBA.

Each room and exhibition in the museum is a tribute to the band's development process, telling about their journey from the Eurovision stage until they became global icons. The tour of the museum will take you to admire the gold records, admire the costumes and take pictures next to the shiny and nostalgic accessories, with a quality playlist of the band's greatest hits in the background.

But this is not just about colorful exhibitions behind glass walls, because Abba would not allow that. The magical museum invites you not only to observe, but also to be a part. In the museum you will find interactive exhibitions where you can sing along with the band members in virtual reality technology, dance alongside iconic videos and measure the band's colorful costumes. Well, how is it sitting?

You may not have vocal lungs like theirs, but who says you can't rock the colorful pate like them.

However, alongside the colorfulness and career highlights, the museum is not only about the heydays. The journey through the museum will take you to explore all sides of the band's journey, including the personal challenges and tremendous pressure that came alongside the skyrocketing fame. In the museum exhibits, you will find video interviews with the band members that provide a unique glimpse into the people behind the pop icons, making the experience even more intimate and special.

There is something special about visiting a museum, a kind of immersive, fascinating and entertaining experience, and no matter where you are from, ABBA's music has the ability to connect people. One of the visitors to the museum claimed in our ears that visiting the museum is like a big family gathering where you don't recognize everyone, but somehow you feel at home. The museum undoubtedly embodies this spirit, and while the world we live in moves fast, there is always time to stop, put on a colorful outfit and dance like the dancing queen (or king) that you are.

To end the sweet experience, don't miss a visit to the museum's souvenir shop, where you can refresh yourself with a souvenir in the atmosphere of the iconic band. From famous album covers to ABBA inspired merchandise, the gift shop offers a variety of pleasant surprises.
