Landing at Podgorica Airport at 7:00 AM.

After you land safely and collect the vehicle, you will start your journey in Montenegro, the first destination is half an hour's drive from the airport, and is the Skadar Lake National Park. Already the road to the lake passes through beautiful views of the lake and the surrounding greenery.

Lake Skadar:

Parking name: Parking Virpazar.

Please note that at the entrance to the lake you will have to pay an entrance fee to the national park of 4 euros per person.

Lake Skadar, the largest lake in the Balkan countries, is located in the territories of Montenegro and Albania, and is considered one of the popular tourist destinations in Montenegro.

The area of the lake is defined as a national park that covers 400 square kilometers and is considered one of the largest bird habitats in the world, and you can find over 280 different species, the most prominent of which are the pelicans.

In the grounds of the beautiful lake there are magical islands, monasteries, churches, forts and fishing villages that make its natural beauty even more mesmerizing.

Lake Scudder offers a variety of fun family activities - from boating that offers beautiful panoramic views, fun kayak rentals and wonderful hiking trails.

You can choose from several activities around the lake - sailing (highly recommended), renting kayaks and going on a hiking trail.

Option 1: One-hour cruise around the lake:

An hour-long cruise around the lake will take you to discover its natural beauty on a small, private boat just for you (a boat with up to 4 seats). The tour will take you through the southern part of the lake along with swimming time in the cool lake water.

The cruise departs from the town of Virpazar, the tiny but central town in the region, from where you will navigate along a small river channel until you reach the open lake. During the cruise you will get to see breathtaking panoramic pictures of the lake and the mountains that surround it, alongside many species of local birds - seagulls, herons and maybe even some pelicans.

On your way back to the starting point, the boat will stop in the lake water so you can go for a short refreshing swim (optional). If you want to swim, remember to stock up on swimwear and towels.

The cruise takes about an hour

Tickets must be ordered in advance

The price for the cruise is 40 euros for a private boat of up to 4.

Link to order tickets

Where to go: The cruise departs from the town of Virpazar, after the bridge called Virpazar Stone Bridge towards the center of the town, where there are several cruise companies, including the Kingfisher company that takes your cruise out. You can recognize the workers by their blue shirts. If you can't find the Kingfisher booth, you can ask at the lake's visitor center, which is right next to the bridge.

You must arrive 30 minutes in advance before booking the cruise

I recommend that you book the cruise for the 11:30/11:00 time zone, so that if there are flight delays you can arrive calmly. If you arrive earlier you can explore the town from which the cruise departs and sit in one of the cafes in the area.

Please note that you do not have to book the cruise in advance, and in the town you will find a variety of companies that offer different types of cruises from now to now.

You can pre-order the kayak rental or purchase on the spot, in the same town of the cruise tour.

Look for the FALCON BOAT CRUISE booth, where the kayak tours depart.
