Who are you Philadelphia Phillies?

The Philadelphia Phillies are the baseball team of the city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, which plays in the MLB league, the top league in the United States and Canada.

The Philadelphia Phillies team, or the Phillies for short, was founded in 1883, and since then has experienced ups and downs in its long history. The group faced many challenges, but also many successes. The Phillies won the World Series in baseball twice, in 1980 and 2008. Their first win was especially sweet, coming after nearly 100 years of play. The team won the title of National League champion 8 times, and won the East Division championship 11 times.

During the many years of its existence, many legendary players wore the team's red uniforms, among them the player Mike Schmidt, who is considered the greatest who played in the team. Schmidt's career, which began in 1972 and ended in 89, was a stormy and successful career during which the player won three MVP awards and made no fewer than 12 All-Star appearances. The legendary player led the team to its first World Championship win in 1980.

It's impossible to talk about the beloved team without mentioning its mascot, the Phillie Phanatic, an oversized green creature who is considered one of the most well-known and beloved characters in the world of baseball. The green bird hangs out during the team's games among the thousands of enthusiastic fans, entertaining Phillies fans since 1978.

The fan base of the Phillies team is considered a boisterous and outspoken crowd compared to the rest of the American baseball fans which is considered a calm sport (relatively..). Although over the years the spirits of the lively crowd have calmed down, you will still find enthusiastic and noisy fans at the team's games, which undoubtedly adds to the tumultuous atmosphere of the games.

The home of the Phillies - Citizens Bank Park Stadium:

So after getting to know the red team, let's get to know the home they play in, Citizens Bank Park Stadium. The stadium, which opened its doors in 2004, replaced the Phillies' historic ballpark and quickly gained popularity due to its unique combination of modern facilities alongside the charm and memories of the old stadium.

The stadium is part of the sports complex of South Philadelphia, which also houses the football stadium - Lincoln Financial Field and the athletics complex Novacare Complex.

The magical stadium holds approximately 43,000 seats, and unlike many modern stadiums, it provides an intimate feeling and ensures that spectators can enjoy the action on the field, regardless of the stand where they sit. The design of the stadium is somewhat reminiscent of classic football stadiums, as it contains an open area that allows excellent viewing and natural grass that preserves the sporting aesthetic.

Since its opening, the stadium has hosted unforgettable moments in baseball history, such as the World Championship in which the Phillies beat the Tampa Bay Rays.
